Tornadoes are Typhoon Motors with trued laminations and commutators that have been meticulously static and dynamic balanced. They are a direct replacement for all TFX/Aurora Thunderjet/AFX/MT chassis, .0635" shaft diameter. Similar aftermarket chassis may have smaller armature holes in the gearplate and may require reaming for proper fit. Checkout the Specs page below for more details.
Tornadoes are Typhoon Motors with trued laminations and commutators that have been meticulously static and dynamic balanced. Static balancing involves balancing about the armature shaft. Dynamic Balancing combines Static Balancing with balancing about the horizontal plane (balancing the laminations). This is done under power to ensure the smoothest balance possible. Static Balanced motors (Cyclones) are fine for stock TFX chassis running Gray Dragon magnets. When running any 5.5 ohm Typhoon or when running any chassis with Black Dragon magnets a Tornado is almost a necessity. If you have low RPM rumble in your car and slow acceleration you need a Tornado motor. Tornadoes are designed for our TFX Chassis.
